2007 Schoolyard Market

Role: Conceptualised the idea of a lifestyle market operating out of Elkanah House (private School) West coast. Responsibilities: Developed the corporate identity. Developed and sourced products and package design. Recruited other exhibitors and managed the market.

1998-2004 Up Country

Started Up Country, a product design and development and manufacturing company. Role: owner and product design and developer specialising in trendy body ranges as well as homeware and food ranges (non Perishable). Packaging specialist and label design service. Clients: loads of Living, Congo Joe, The Kirstenbosch Shop, African Eco, Keedo Clothing, Old House Shop, The Beach House Hermanus, Naartjie Clothing and Loft Living. Highlight: designing my own range of bodycare called The Happy Gardener & Flower Girl.

2005–2007 Freelance photographic stylist

For food, fashion, homeware and interiors. Styled shoots for Woolworths, Freddy Hirsch, Berry lane, Orley Whip, Johnson & Johnson and Safari Dried Fruit as well as Fairlady, WW Taste magazine and Ideas magazine. Role: organise and produce photographic shoots, sourcing, selecting models, clothing and backdrops and recipe development for food.

1993-1995 Lifestyle Store

Opened my own lifestyle store DAKOTA, situated at Stuttafords Town Square and The Waterfront. Role: owner and product design and development. Responsibilities: conceptualised and developed ranges of crockery, clothing, soft furnishings, homewares, furniture, bodycare and showcased retro memorabilia. All merchandise was custom made to my specifications and produced 100% locally. I was well known for my innovative store design using retro kitchen dressers and deco chairs.
